The cajon is believed to have originated in Peru, where African slaves repurposed old packing crates to replace their traditional drums.

Cajon! Free offers a selection of 6 professionally recorded high-fidelity cajons for users to play. Additionally, users can incorporate 5 different percussion instruments such as congas, bongos, and timbales to play alongside the cajon.

The app strives for realism, with features that provide an authentic drumming experience. The pitch subtly adjusts based on where the cajon is struck, and volume levels respond to the intensity of taps. Perform rolls effortlessly by swirling your finger, adjusting the speed by varying your motion.

An interesting feature of Cajon! Free is the ability to customize the cajon's color. Users can also adjust pitch, reverb, delay, and touch sensitivity settings. Other functionalities include multi-track recording, the option to share and export recordings (available through in-app purchase), and more. The app provides 16 PlayAlong Beats, 15 unique Drum Beats, 11 Music Beats, and 11 metronome sounds to enhance user experience.

Drawing on decades of drumming expertise and cutting-edge technology, Cajon! Free caters to cajon players of all skill levels and ages.
